Products worth the hype

Hey there :)

After I told you which products are not worth the hype, I´d like to show you now which products, I think, are definitely worth the hype.

Clarins Lip Perfector shade 01: I don´t really like lipgloss and I resisted the hype, but then I saw my favourite youtube girl using it and I just had to buy it. It doesn´t really give much of a colour, but it makes the lips look so lush and moisturized. If I wore a lipstick that mad my lips a bit dry, I just use this one the day after and my lips are all nice again. The scent is also really nice, quite sweet, but nice. Definitely worth the money!

Revlon Lip Butter "Sorbet": Oh, I´m a sucker for the Revlon lip butters. They give this nice tint and shine to the lips and the colour range is simply gorgeous. I have 3 shades and I´d love to get more, but I just have enough lipsticks.

Rimmel Apocalips "Stellar": I already wrote a review about them. Click here.

Maxfactor False Lash Effect Mascara: Everyone talked about this mascara. It is well known that Maxfactor mascaras are really good, but this one especially. It gives so much volume, without making all my lashes stick together. This is the waterproof version and it stays on for ages. It is quite difficult to remove it and can be quite annoying if you just want to go to bed, but the effect is worth it. Next time, I´ll probably try the version which isn´t waterproof.

Collection Concealer "Fair": I have seen it on so many blogs and in so many youtube videos, I stopped counting. Everyone just seems to love it and I have to admit, since I have it, I love it, too. It has a high coverage, lasts the whole day and is cheap.

Essie "Mint Candy Apple": The perfect mint! It is one of Essies bestsellers and I can understand why. It needs two layers for an even finish and lasts up to 5 days. I don´t know how often I´ve been wearing it since I´ve got it, but my other nail polishes must feel really left out.

What are your worth the hype products? Do you love these products as much as I do? Or did you resist the hype?

Products not worth the hype

Hey there :)

We all know it, we all hate it and we all can´t stand it. I am talking about THE HYPE. I have to admit as soon as there is a huge hype about something, I have to buy it. There are just a few things I can stand. Anyway, lots of products are hyped, but not all are as good as they are said to be. So, today I´d like to show you 4 products, that are not worth the hype. But before I show you these, I´d like to say one thing: I do like all of these products and use all of them, I just don´t think that they deserve to be talked about so much or worth the amount of money. So lets get started!

MUA "Heaven&Earth" Palette: Oh dear, yes I have 190952 browns and yes, I still had to buy it. The quality is good, nice pigmentation and longlasting, but all of these browns are so usual and no "wow I have never seen this before" colour . Of course, it is cheap, but as it is so usual, it is not worth buying it. It would definitely be worth purchasing if you are a beginner and don´t own much, but people with lots of make up just don´t need it.

Lancome Rouge in Love "340B": I can still remember how, about a year ago, every German blogger was talking about this lipstick and as I am a sucker for lipsticks, I just had to get it. I stayed strong for a couple of weeks, but in the end I gave in. It is a perfect colour for spring and summer, but the price! About 20-22pounds for this little darling. The quality itself is alright, but not much better than a Rimmel lipstick and that is what makes this product not worth the hype. Too expensive for the quality.

Urban Decay Primer Potion: Everyone has it and everyone loves it, including me. This package lastet me about 2 years (while I was using other primers as well) and I really love it. The eyeshadows get brighter and stay on and on and on. Why it is not worth the hype? Because there are other brands which make primers as good as this one but way cheaper and with a better packaging. This packaging is just rubbish. You can´t get everything out and that for 16 pounds? No thank you!

Benefit "Benetint": I have never seen a product that was as hyped as this one. A tint for cheeks and lips. Quite hard to work with, uneven on the lips and stinking like hell. On the cheeks it gives a nice, even and rosy colour, but it doesn´t look special enough to be hyped that much, nor is it easy to work with. Nice idea, but it just doesn´t work for me.

What are your products that are just not worth the hype? Do you agree with mine or are there any which you love in this posts?

Lots of love

Top 5: LE products

Hey there :)

Yes, it´s Tuesday again, so time for another Top 5 Tuesday. Today it is all about my favourite limited edition products. I hope you don´t mind as they are not available anymore. Maybe you can find them on ebay or some other website.

Essie "Pennytalk": The first one is Essie "Pennytalk". I have never seen such a colour or similar to this with any brand. When it came out, there was such a run on this nail varnish that I was quite lucky that I got it. I still love it after a year now. You only need one layer and it gives a really even finish.

Mac "Flatter Me": With this one it´s not just the beautiful print on it, the cute packaging and the really nice colour, it gives a beautiful peachy glow to the cheeks, but also the place where I bought it. I bought it on the airport with my boyfriend on the way to our first holiday together. That´s why it is so special to me.

Sleek "Mirrored Pink": Sleek blushes are amazing, we don´t have to talk about that. They always come up with such amazing shades. As always the pigmentation is really good and the shimmer is literally like a mirror. I´m in love!

Catrice "Artfully Lustrous": This eyeshadow is so well pigmented and so soft that it is so easy to apply. It look especially good as a highlight or for a light make up. I have used quite a lot and I´m already scared to hit the pan.

Alverde "shimmery gold": The colour of this eyeliner is simply amazing. It´s not a pure gold, but more of an old gold with a hint of olive. The eyeliner is really nice in combination with Mac "Sumptous Olive" or "Woodwinked".

What are your favourite limited edition products? Are you a le hunter or do you not care about les? What Top 5 would you like to see in the future?

Fashion Haul or my fashion addicted friend wanted to shop

Hey there,

as you may know, my friend from Germany was here in England to visit me last week. She is an absolute fashion addict and, of course, wanted to do lots of shopping. So I showed here all those nice shop which are not available in Germany. Obviously, I found some nice things as well. We went to London, Portsmouth and some secondhand shops in the town I live. It is so good to live between those two cities. Perfect for shopping!

Forever 21 - ring - £1.99

Claires Outlet - necklaces - each £2

Peacock - aztec print dress - £14
Oasis - green and creme dress - £25

both secondhand shop
left: sheer blouse - £4.50
right: sheer top - £1.25

Primark - jeans - £10
Peacock - black maxi skirt - £14

As you can see, it was a quite summery haul. Maybe because we had around 27 degrees the whole week over.

How do you like the things? What are your favourite shops in England?

Passion on my nails

Hey there :)

Today I´d like to show you a quick NOTD. I´m wearing P2 "Passion", which is a beautiful coral/pink shade. I´ve been wearing it so often in the last couple of weeks as it is perfect for summer. The quality of P2 nail varnishes is amazing. They are very longlasting and you just need 1-2 layers.

How do you like P2 nail polishes? Do you like the colour? What are your favourites in summer?

Top 5: Accessoires

Hey there :)

As you may know, my last week was really busy. My friend from Germany came over to visit me for a week and we did lots of fun stuff. So yesterday, I had to get some sleep after she left. Now I´m back and it´s already Tuesday again. That means Top 5 Tuesday! Today it´s all about accessoires.

DKNY Watch: I bought this watch last year when I went to Paris. A good watch had been on my wish list for ages and I don´t regret buying it at all. It was quite expensive (~130pounds) but I wear it nearly every day. Sometimes I wear gold jewellery and sometimes silver jewellery, so I decided to buy a brown one as it goes with both.

Primark Ring: I´m obsessed with big rings and this is my favourite. As I have a lot of blue/turquoise coloured clothes, it goes with lots and this is probably why I love it so much.

No Name Bracelettes: Bought in Venice, nearly two years ago now (oh my god! how time runs!), I´m wearing them pretty often. They just remind me so much of the fun I had when I went to Italy.

Sferza Necklace: Oh dear, what a drama! First I didn´t want it and then, on the last day of my holiday in Spain, I was desperate to get it. So we had to run to the shop and, luckily, I got the last one. Again, the colour goes with lots of my clothes.

No Name Necklace: I received this necklace for last Christmas. My best friend gave it to me and said: "When you filled this with rain, you can give up on your dream of living in England and come back home." It has no bottom :) This was so cute!

What are your favourite accessoires? Do you have any suggestions for the next Top 5 Tuesdays?

Lots of love xx

Colours of the Rainbow Tag

Hey there,

you have probably seen this tag so often by now, that you don´t even want to read this. But I really like to see all these products for a specific colour. Sometimes I wouldn´t even think of the products that some blogger feature in their posts. So today, I´d like to show you my version and products. Let´s get started.

Red:

Mac "Russian Red": This is most probably my most loved lipstick ever. I love the matte finish and the colour is simply amazing.

Orange:

Loreal Elvive Extraordinary Oil: Here in England, the lenght of my hair turned really dry and frizzy. Since I´m using this oil, they are smooth and soft again. Additionally, it protects the hair from heat (blow dryer) and it smells delicious.

Yellow:

Burts Bees Lemon Lime Lip Gloss: This is literally the only "yellow" product I own. I don´t really use it as a lip gloss, as it moisturizes the lips very well, so it is more of a lip balm. There is just one huge problem. It stinks! But I use it every night, before I go to bed, and the next morning my lips are really smooth.

Green:

Mac "Humid": A really nice green, which is beautiful on the lid or in the crease. Unfortunately, I´m not using it too often. I should really use it more! The quality is good, as usual for Mac.

Purple:

UDPP "original": Okay, I admit it. I´m cheating on this one. But I have no other product, which is a pure purple.  All the rest of my "purple" products, are more greyish or blue. But the UDPP is a really good base and I will definitely repurchase it if mine is empty.

Blue:

OPI "Unfor-greta-bly blue": Such a stunning blue! I love it. I don´t really like blue on my nails, but this one is absolutely beautiful. I can´t stop wearing it. Two layers are enough and it lasts for up to 6 days on my nails. And the name is awesome, too.

Pink:

Topshop Cream Blush "Flush": Actually, it is a bit brighter than it is on the picture. I already featured it in my Top 5 Blushes post. It is just so easy to work with and gives such a nice colour to the cheeks.

Multicoloured:

Sleek Palette "Sparkle 2": Oh dear, I´m not really a sucker for multicoloured things and most of the time they just don´t attract me, as I wouldn´t use half of the colours. This is the only multicoloured item I have and yes, it consists of 7 dark colours and 4 light ones. Can you actually call this multicoloured?

So these were my products. What would you choose for the colours? Can I call this palette multicoloured?

Lots of love

My Essie Collection

Hey there,

as you may know, I have a slight Essie obsession. They are my favourite nail polishes. They last 3-5 days, are so easy to apply and you don´t need many layers at all. That´s why I´ve got quite a few of them and today, I´d like to show them to you.

Tea&Cumpets: shimmery light beige - 2 layers
A Crewed Interest (LE): light peach - 2 layers

Shop til I drop: sheer light peach, gel look - 3 layers for full coverage
Tartdeco: bright coral/orange - 2 layers (careful: turns more orange, when a topcoat is applied!)
Off the Shoulder (LE): bright pink - 2 layers

All tied up (LE): did someone read too much Shades of Grey?!: brown-red with golden shimmer - 2 layers
Reccessionista (LE): deep plum - 1 layer
Bond with Whomever (LE): light purple, lilac - 2 layers

Miss Fancy Pants (LE): elephant grey with a hint of purple (depending on the lightning) - 2 layers
Maximilian Strase Her (LE): grey, blue, green (depending on the lightning) - 2 layers
Mint Candy Apple: mint - 2 layers

Bikini so Teeny (LE): medium blue with silver shimmer - 2 layers
Pennytalk (LE): metallic rosegold - 1 layer

Sew Psyched: dirty khaki - 2 layers

Beyond Cozy (LE): gold/silver glitter - 2 layers for full coverage
Leading Lady (LE): sheer dark red with glitter - 2-3 layers
Snap happy (LE): bright red - 2 layers

How do you like Essie nail polishes? Do you have the same ones? Which ones should I add to my collection? Which one is your favourite?

Top 5: Eyeshadows

Hey there,

this week is so busy. One of my friends from Germany is here to visit me for a week and we´re out all day long and I have to work. Even though it´s so much fun, I´m so tired.
Anyway, I didn´t want to miss out on blogging and today it´s time for another Top 5 Tuesday. This time, it´s all about eyeshadows.

Manhattan "dim brown" (top left): This is one of my all time favourites. I bought it 1,5 years ago and I´m still loving it. The pigmentation is amazing and it feels so smooth when applying it. It has already a quite deep hollow, which you can´t see on the picture. Its colour changes between grey and green, depending on the light.

No7 (no name) (top right): I received it in a gift box by No7, which you got when you spent more than 15pounds on No7 make up. In the beginning, I didn´t like it at all, but now it is one of my favourites. Often, I use it instead of a black eyeshadow, as it is a really dark green with gold shimmer and looks black most of the time. It is easy to work with and stays the whole day/night.

Mac "Satin Taupe" (bottom): Do I really have to talk about this one? I have been talking about it so much already, you are probably bored as soon as you see it on a picture. Just that: I love it and I would always repurchase it.

Rival de Loop "white coffee" (right): My favourite to blend all edges of my make up. I use it everyday and I already repurchased it 2 times.

Chanel Illusion d´ombre "Émerveillé" (right): I have been thinking about buying it for nearly a year. It is pretty expensive, but it is worth it. It works without a base and I usually take it with me every weekend (as I´m out every weekend) and I use no other eyeshadow on the weekends (except the one above). It is perfect for a really natural look but also goes really well with a nice eyeliner. It was really worth buying it.

NOTD - black ´n´white is my confetti

Hey there,

as I have shown you in my latest haul, I bought the Loreal Confetti Topcoat. It caught my eye ages ago, but it was always sold out. When I finally found it, I just had to buy it. I´m really glad I did. It is black and white, so it goes really well on top of nearly any nail polish.
This time, I felt like wearing grey nails, but in the end it seemed too boring to me. So I just added the Loreal topcoat and I´m amazed. It is so simple, but looks so good.

Base: Rival de Loop "lucky grey" (LE)

Do you have the Loreal Confetti Topcoat? Do you like it, or not? What nail polish do you combine with it?

FOTD - Jennifers Goldrush

Hey there,

Green-gold was always an autumn colours to me. I rarely wear that colour in spring/summer, but the weather was so awful this morning, that I decided to give it a go. So I took out my green-golds and this is what it ended in.

I tried to keep it very simple, so it didn´t look too dark.

Unfortunately, you can´t really see "Satin Taupe", which I used in the crease. I don´t know why, but the light was pretty bad today.

Used products:
Urban Decay Primer Potion in "original"
Catrice Made to Stay Eyeshadow "Jennifers Goldrush" (whole lid)
Mac "Sumptious Olive" (on top of JG)
Mac "Satin Taupe" (crease)
Rival de Loop "white coffee" (blending)
MUA Eye Liner "rich brown" (upper&lower lashes and waterline)
Maxfactor False Lash Effect Mascara

On the cheeks, I´m wearing Benefits "Sugarbomb" and on the lips the Clarins Lip Perfector from my last post, in the shade 01.

How do you like it? Do you think green-gold is just for autumn or do you wear every colour, no matter what time of the year it is?

Lots of love
